MISSION PARTNER:

RIO BRAVO MINISTRY

Rio Bravo seeks to be a “Bridge of Hope” for the city of Reynosa, Mexico.

Rio Bravo Ministry is a faith-based ministry located in Reynosa, Tamalupas, Mexico, directly across the border from McAllen, Texas. Their focus and core belief is to become a “Bridge of Hope” that connects the local needy Mexican community with the wider network of resources of American Christians. Rio Bravo Ministry’s primary mission and focus is Casa Hogar Rio Bravo, a home for neglected and abandoned children at the Rio Bravo campus. In addition to that, they run Colegio Puente de Esperanza, a Christian school open to the public that provides education for the kids in the home and 450 students from the community, and they support the Blue School, a Christian school in a small rural community on the outskirts of Reynosa.

WHY WE PARTNER

We partner with other nonprofit organizations whose missions we support, in order to accelerate the work they do by taking on the effort, time, and resources needed to accomplish projects for them and their clientele.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

- Isaiah 61 -

SERVING at RIO BRAVO

We take Serve Trips to Rio Bravo four times a year. Projects in Reynosa can include major construction projects and all steps necessary for that from framing and drywall to painting and electrical work, and everything in between! All four trips for the year are on the calendar, and you can learn more about these trips on our Serve Trips: Rio Bravo page by clicking below.

All volunteers serving here will be asked to complete a background check for the safety of the clients we serve and for protection of our volunteers. All background checks are subject to review and approval by Cornerstone.
