Serve Day: Nov 6
Foster Village had a need. Cornerstone had tools. The Table brought hands. With the projects planned out, tools ready, and leaders to manage, Cornerstone was able to mobilize the Table (the Young Adults ministry of Austin Ridge Bible Church) to serve our community. They provided 35 sets of hands, but not just hands - they provided skilled hands, eager hearts, creative minds, strategic brainpower, and of course, some serious muscles. We were able to manage and accomplish all that Foster Village needed done on their property, thereby enabling them to allocate their time and funds towards the work of supporting and empowering children and foster, adoptive, and biological families. In addition to meeting Foster Village’s needs, we were able to encourage 35 young adults, recognizing their unique gifts and opening up opportunities for them to serve as the Lord leads them. It is our privilege to be catalysts for both of these groups to grow and serve.
We love mobilizing other people and ministry groups to support the efforts of our mission partners to “bind up the brokenhearted” (Isaiah 61) in each of their unique avenues.
And, as a cherry on top, because the Lord is kind and gracious, we are encouraged in our work by seeing 35 young adults committed to growing in their obedience to Jesus by serving the vulnerable in our community. That encourages us to continue doing the work we do, providing space for people to serve and caring for our neighbors all around us.
