Work Day Report: Partners in Hope
Matt, Dee, and Denise with Partners in Hope set up yet another phenomenal day assisting two neighbors that live next door to each other - a widow and a widower. These two neighbors were gracious to allow 50 volunteers to do a makeover on their property.
Every tool ever designed for landscaping was utilized and then some. Lawns were cut, gardens were weeded, weeds were whacked - with pure JOY. Widow-maker trees were dropped and debris was removed. A beautiful car port was designed and built with perfection and love. The industrial chipper did not stop chipping from the moment we arrived. We looked like a bunch of fire ants that just had their nest kicked open. But that’s just the physical part.
It is an honor and priceless pleasure to work alongside families, husbands and wives, fathers and daughters, moms and sons. Community! I believe that a family that serves together stays together. There is just nothing better than seeing smiles, hearing laughter, working up a great sweat and telling tons of great stories as we make new friends and help our fellow neighbors.
Purpose! It is hard to express the pleasure one feels from making a huge contribution, the inexpressible joy one receives from a fellow servant’s hug in celebration of a job well done.
The Heart! The inner warmth as the homeowner attempts to express their gratitude from transforming their home and their life. These opportunities to serve provide purpose and community for our volunteers and for the people we have the privilege of serving. Our Lord does not waste one single moment or action, and we rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
Please prayerfully consider investing in your community, your neighbor, yourself, and your family.
God Bless You!
In His Service,
