Serve Trip: Reynosa | January 2022

Our first of four Serve Trips to Reynosa this year was an incredible start to the year due to….

  • A team of 42 people, the largest team we’ve had in over two years

  • 16 first-timers to Reynosa

  • 14 women, the most we’ve ever had on a team to Reynosa

  • Two married couples, one father & son, one mother & son (first time to ever have this combo!), one father-in-law & son-in-law, and two adult brothers

  • 23 faithful Reynosa veterans, who have joined for many Serve Trips

  • 18 young (and strong) adults from the Table, the young adults ministry at Austin Ridge

  • Amazing project team leaders who taught, led, and encouraged well

  • A team of 3 chefs (the most chefs we’ve ever had) who cooked every meal for this hungry army of servants

  • Each team member wrote a prayer request on a bookmark and swapped with a fellow team member to cover them in prayer over the weekend

  • Safety traveling to and from Mexico and while working on the job sites

  • Hearing our team members share scriptures at meal time that they’ve treasured in their heart…long ones, too!

  • Playing games and doing puzzles after dinner late into the night (for some folks at least)

  • Being flexible (always with a smile) as needed to the weather when it decided to rain all day on Friday, and still getting plenty of work done inside at the Blue School

  • The Blue School (the high school building) that we have been building for the past year is finally…painted BLUE!

  • A team serving at Mt. Moriah Church in the Blue School neighborhood

  • Friendships forming and servant-leaders developing….that’s the best part.

We have three more Serve Trips (+ the Medical Mission trip) on the books for 2022 and all are open for registration. You can head over to our Reynosa Trips page to learn more about these trips.
