Work Day Report: Partners in Hope
I am not quite sure I will ever get used to the heartwarming magic that is found in service days.
The Lord absolutely showed up in a mighty way on Saturday, April 17th - as promised! We teamed up with Partners in Hope again to bless our friend Cori.
We took the idea behind Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them”, and instead put 2 & 3 together and made 23 total, gathering in His name to serve.
God was smiling down on Cori and her house as two father-and-son teams, six husband-and-wife teams, two pastors, and many others mowed lawns, weed whacked, painted, planted a vegetable garden and beautiful flowering plants throughout Cori’s space, and finally, filled in a 400-foot trench. Perhaps most importantly, we provided Cori with water, which she had not had since the freeze here in Texas.
Thankfully, Chris was kind enough to man the biggest boy toy we have ever rented… a six foot circular blade that spun at a thousand miles a minute. (Ok, I am exaggerating just a bit.) We dug a trench to lay new pipe from the water tank to Cori’s house. We completed the day by listening to Cori’s testimony, sang songs under the worship leadership of Eddie, and prayed under the spiritual leadership of Don. It just doesn’t get any better than the joy and love of Jesus felt so tangibly in this workday. Joe and his son Owen finished off the day by dropping off a beautiful hand-crafted picnic table so that we may be able to have many more fellowship meetings with song and praise at Cori’s house. Enjoy the wonderful photos above taken by one of our volunteers, Tori!
We find this message in Hebrews 13:16, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such things are pleasing to God.”
Knowing Jesus, Growing in Him & SERVING Jesus is our heartbeat.
If you have not yet served, may I ask why? Consider the video below an encouragement to engage in the work God has called His children to do.
I personally have found an endless amount of JOY and PEACE serving God’s children, our sisters and brothers. It is such an incredible moment when Christians unite in truly making a difference in someone else’s life. Witnessing tears of JOY will soften your heart and warm your soul. We would love to experience these things with you at the next Cornerstone Restoration Workday. Click here to find out more about how you can volunteer with us!
